“KANJIAN•Harken the Landscape Box” is a limited-edition artwork of Chinese wood and copper craftmanship especially made by KANJIAN. It was designed by New Chinese Furniture designer Shen Baohong. With the solid box base and the extending broad branches in a unique freehand style, this box brings the effortless elegance of Jiangnan. “KANJIAN•Harken the Landscape Box” has adopted traditional mortise and tenon joints with finger joints at bending parts to form natural joints between wood members and highlight the beauty of the wood itself and the wisdom of the craftmanship. The rotary semicircular disc, with a red copper bearing inlaid in the hidden cabinet, fits perfectly. The red copper members, which are manually polished, stretch the quality calfskin tight. The combination provides a sense of weight with the coppery luster and also a sense of warmness with the soft calfskin. Polished repeatedly before finalized, all works can be used for a very long time without crack or deformation.
